Artist Statement:

Eileen was born in the Pacific Northwest and has therefore been afforded the opportunity to study and learn from the magnificent landscape that surrounds her. She graduated from the University of Washington with a degree in Wildlife Science in 1997. Currently her focus has been on wildlife, plants and more specifically, the horse. The latter is due in large part to Jim, her Morgan-Appaloosa gelding and constant friend of 12 years.

Eileen's choice of mediums has changed over the years but one thing has remained constant, her love of the colored pencil. Currently she is using a method taught to her by the talented Sueellen Ross. A layering process of India ink, watercolor, and colored pencil are used in this manner, Eileen is able to extract the best qualities of each medium and turn out glorious rich pieces of art. Oh, and yes, there really are two dogs!
