Artist Statement:
She can't dance...She can't carry a
tune in a bucket.. Now she paints every day.
Lillian and her husband Dwane raised
their six teenagers together. Her reply to the group when they
said "I wish I could" was, "Don't say that, do it." One day she
followed her own advice and began taking innumerable art classes of all
mediums. She had rose and water scene classes with Sue Schewee,
portrait classes with three teachers, tole classes with several
different teachers, and last but not least lettering to round it all
out.
Now, she takes refressure classes in Rosemaling three days twice a
year, with the same teacher she has had for seventeen years. She is
also a member of the Poulsbo Art League for the seventeenth year.
She taught painting classes at a retirement home for fifteen years, and
now enjoys teaching children of all ages. At the age of 80, she
now enjoys making cards of all types from fabric and paint. She has a
regular following from coast to coast.
She maintains Xmas ornaments hand painted on wood year round with
regular and tourist customers in the
gallery. Lillian's Rosemaling has been featured in the local
newspaper, and around town on display benches, which the local town
hired her to do.

will always do a good job."
