Born of German & Swedish parents in the Midwest, I was immersed in Scandinavian arts & crafts. Wheat weaving is as old as the agrarian culture is to man. Most of the weaves I use are traditional "plaits" that have been around for centuries. With whimsical names like "Rustic", "Batswing", Catsfoot", "English 2 Straw" and "Compass", these are used by artists the world over.I join with fellpw artisans to keep this beautiful art form alive in an increasingly mass produced world
