I have been working with clay for over 40 years and still love the feel of it in my hands and the ability to change it's shape.
A strong appreciation of the beauty of the Pacific Northwest has led me to express the connection I feel between the clean modern lines of my pots and natural elements through form, surface detail, and firing technique.
I enjoy adding hand built elements associated with nature or embellishing the surface with orgainic details.
My horsehair raku vessels are another way to bridge clean classic line and natural elements. Each vessels lid often includes animal forms. The design on the horeshair pot is achieved by gently laying horeshair, feathers, or other organic materials on the hot vessel when it's removed from the kiln.
